Zodac Spear from The Hunt Club

In order to get the zodiac spear in FFXII The Zodiac Age, you can get it from the Hunt Club. The Hunt Club becomes available after completing Archades.

To gain access to the Zodiac Spear you must complete the main hunt and collect 30 trophies. You cannot do this until the Strahl is available which will allow you to travel the world freely.

Unlocking The Hunt Club - In order to unlock the Hunt Club, speak to the Huntmaster at the Phon Coast Hunters' Camp once you complete Archades.

You will have to take down a Thalassinon on the Vaddu Strand, which can be found east of the Hunters' Camp. You can find it by going to the ledge that overlooks the beach on the east side of the Vaddu Strand.

After taking out Thalassinon, report back to the Huntmaster, talk to one of the three brothers and agree ot hunt.

Once you talk to the Huntmaster again, you will have to find 30 rare monsters.

After you defeat the 30 rare monsters, speak to Atak, Stok and Blok to unlock items from the Shifty-Eyed Merchant's store.

Unlocking the spear

Now you will need to trade 30 trophies from your hunts to Atak, Blok, and Stok, giving each one ten trophies.

There is also one other way here to get the Spear. By giving 16 trophies to Alak, and then collecting and turning in all 30 trophies, there will be an awards ceremony.

After the ceremony you will recieve the Zodiac Spear.

Zodiac Spear The Hard Way

It is possible to get the Spear in the Henne Mines in the 2nd phase dig area, before you fight the Zodiark Esper. Thus to get this Zodiac Spear, you must have obtained at least 10 Espers (the requirement of obtaining Zodiark), or the area will not be opened.

The Zodiac Spear will then have a chance to spawn in a chest which spawns in the 2nd phase area. Keep in mind the chest has a very small chance of appearing. And smaller chance of containing the Zodiac Spear. So it's best to get via the Hunt Club.

To obtain this Zodiac Spear, you MUST have the Diamond Gauntlets equipped before opening the chest. It will NOT appear in the chest at all, without them equipped. If not equipped, you will only find gil.

Zodiac Spear in Trial Mode

In The Zodiac Age, it is possible to obtain The Zodiac Spear in trial mode. (located on the main menu of the game)

In order to get the spear, you need to reach stage 62. Once you complete stage 62 of Trial Mode, you will be rewarded with the Zodiac Spear.

Zodiac Spear The Easy Way (NOTE: Original FFXII Only, does not apply to The Zodiac Age)

The most powerful weapon in the game has a trick to it that those who have to open EVERY treasure chest would miss out on. There are 4 places with treasure chests that must NOT be opened in order for the Zodiac Spear to appear:

1) Treasure chest in Lowtown, outside of Old Dalan's place
2) When sneaking into the palace (Before getting the Goddess Tear), there are several chests in the Cellar. Do not open the two chests in the southeast corner.
3) All treasure chests in the Confiscatory (the place where you get your weapons and armor back after being captured)
4) In the Phon Coast, later in the game, there is an island with 16 chests all near each other. The 4th chest that must NOT be opened is among these, so it is best to leave them all alone. They only contain Gil anyway.

(Note: Once again this does NOT apply to The Zodiac Age. So feel free to open any chests in the remaster!)

If you've left all these treasures be, you'll find the Zodiac Spear in the Necrohol of Nabudis. It sports a whopping +150 attack and, like all spears, +8 Evasion.

The location of the Zodiac Spear in the Necrohol of Nabudis can be found here. Once you get to the 16 chests, open the second one from the bottom left. This is very important, make sure to open that chest and only that chest to get your spear.

Here is a video showing how to get it (video updated)

Deathbringer sword early in the game

Deathbringer- attack 90, one hit KO

*you can get this as soon as you get the dawn shard*

Ok so go through all that side quest to get the barheim key (you get this key from the Dantros Wife sidequest, click here to see it).

Once you get the key, enter the barheim passage through the dalmasca eastersand. okay there are 2 new open paths now, one has a bunch of bombs and the other, to the left i believe, has toads and an adamtine thing. also disease traps so watch out. there are a few treasure cheats that contain loads of money in here but one is on the other side of a rock that a salimander is standing beside.

A mimic could be inside it, although much harder than the ones that came out of the chests earlier on in the game of course. keep in mind it is a rare monster. so keep leaving and opening the chest until the mimic pops out. dont try to fight him unless you are getting this late in the game because most likely he is too hard (22000 hp).

Steal the deathbringer sword from him. equipping the theifs cuffs is a good idea. you can repeat this as many times as you like. once i stole the sword i ran like hell so good luck.

Here is a video showing how to get it

List of MISSABLES

01. Genji equipment
- This set contains Genji Gloves, Genji Shield, Genji Armor, and Genji
Helmet. All of these equips must be stolen in two battles with the mark
of "Battle on the Big Bridge" clan hunt.
- Stage 1 is in [Lhusu Mines / Tasche Span]...
steal: Genji Shield (round 4)
steal: Genji Gloves (round 5)
- Stage 2 is in [Lhusu Mines / Site 7]; you need Site 11 Key...
steal: Genji Helmet (round 4)
steal: Genji Armor (round 5)

02. Scenes during both "Battle on the Big Bridge" fights
#1 Stage 1 on [Lhusu Mines / Tasche Span]
- if you defeat Enkidu before Gilgamesh loses 20% HP, Gilgamesh will use
scene A
- if you do not defeat Enkidu before Gilgamesh loses 20% HP, Gilgamesh
will use scene B
#2 Stage 2 on [Lhusu Mines / Site 7]
- if you defeat Enkidu before Gilgamesh loses 20% HP, Gilgamesh will use
scene C
- if you do not defeat Enkidu before Gilgamesh loses 20% HP, Gilgamesh
will use scene D

03. 6 different scenes after second victory against the mark of "Battle on the
Big Bridge" hunt

- after defeating the mark you can examine the sword left behind (or not,
doesn't really matter)
- when you try to exit the room, a small scene plays, and depending on who
your onscreen chr is, they vary slightly

04. July subquest
- becomes available after getting Dawn Shard
- complete the first events in Nalbina BEFORE you reach Mosphoran Highwaste
- if you don't complete the first events in Nalbina, quest is "lost" after
you defeat the boss of Mt Bur-Omisace, meaning you also fail in two
scenes associated with the quest (one scene in Nalbina, the other in
Archades)
- can complete it after you gain access to Archades
- the reward for quest is Salamand Halcyon, which you can otherwise get
from Salamand Entite (steal or drop)

05. Slime Oil
- one Slime Oil can be received from footracing in Balfonheim by winning
tier 90 (out of total 100)
- you can steal Slime Oil from Orthros
- Slime Oil is used in only one recipe, for which you need one Slime Oil,
so that means you only need one extra

06. Storyline scenes in Necrohol of Nabudis and Nabreus Deadlands
- before you set foot into Archades, visit Necrohol of Nabudis for a
missable storyline scene
- before you set foot into Archades, visit Nabreus Deadlands for a missable
storyline scene

07. Mythril Blade & Mythril Sword
- do not sell these two pieces of equipments
- if by any chance you do sell them, Omega Mark XII very rarely drops
Mythril Sword
- there is no way to obtain second copy of Mythril Blade

08. Small Package
- When you're to hunt for Rogue Tomato, head for [Rabanastre / Southern
Plaza] and look for bangaa talking to Imperial. Have a chat with this
chap and he will ask you to deliver something to his friend outside East
Gate. Agree to help him and you get Small Package (loot item). Now you
can either sell that for 150 gil, or be a nice person and take it to
bangaa's friend (but you don't get any reward for doing so).
- so if you want to keep Small Package in inventory, don't give it away
09. Omega Badge
- after nailing Omega Mark XII in [The Great Crystal / Dhebon Jilaam Avaa]
make absolutely sure to pick up the loot bag which contains Omega Badge
- if you leave the screen without colleting the loot bag and come back
later, the loot bag WILL BE GONE

10. Wyrmhero Blade
- if you don't pick up Omega Badge, save your game afterwards, and don't
have any previous saves, you screw yourself into ever getting Wyrmhero
Blade

11. Rimzat's woes and worries
- after you defeat Earth Tyrant, you can find Rimzat in [Phon Coast /
Hunters' Camp]
- talk to him for some more follow-up on the aftermath of Email Tyrant's
purification (yes, I spoofed its name on purpose)

12. Pilika's diary scene
- after defeating Rocktoise and getting reward from Pilika, talk to her
again to embark on a quest to retrieve her diary
- when you find it, choose to read it

13. Bhujerban Madhu
- In Bhujerba there are six sections of the city, and eight places you can
enter for a total of 14. In each of these you can find 'Bottle of
Spirits', which is Bhujerban Madhu liquor. Find all 14, and then don't
sell them if you want to keep them in your inventory
- on the other hand, by keeping them you get to miss on 14 possible scenes
of how do Bhujerbans take to the liquor, getting smashed and everything
(I would recommend that you save your game, see different scenes, and
then reload)

14. Zodiac Spear
- treasures you must NOT obtain are (contents is listed assuming you don't
wear Diamond Armlet):
#1 treasure in front of Dalan's house in Rabanastre Lowtown (contains up
to 100 gil, Potion or Eye Drops)
#2 treasure in SE corner of Cellars in Royal Palace of Rabanastre
(contains Elixir)
#3 avoid the treasure in Confiscatory in Nalbina Dungeons (contains 316
gil)
#4 stay away from treasure among 4x4 pot grid on the Vaddu Strand in Phon
Coast (contains 2000 gil, or Knot of Rust)
- if you poke any of above four treasures, you can kiss Zodiac Spear in
[Necrohol of Nabudis / Cloister of the Highborn] goodbye
- there is one more chance for your Zodiac Spear, a mere 0,1% treasure pot
in [Henne Mines / Phase 2 Dig]
- whatever the outcome, Zodiac Spear IS NOT WORTHY to restart the game for
15. Semclam Shell, Nebralim, Valeblossom Dew, Great Serpentskin
- each of these items is connected do Desert Patient Quest
- after you give Cactus Flower to Dantro's wife, she'll ask for some
Semclam Shells
- 2 found in [Dalmasca Estersand / South Bank Village]
- 3 found in [Dalmasca Estersand / Banks of the Nebra]
- if you sell all of them, return to [Banks of the Nebra] and look for
Semclam Shells again
- you need to give her at least one to progress to next step
- after you give her at least one Semclam Shells, she'll ask for some
Nebralim
- 2 found in [Dalmasca Estersand / Outpost]
- if you sell all of them, return to [Outpost] and look for Nebralim again
- you need to give her at least one to progress to next step
- after you give her at least one Nebralim, she'll ask for some Valeblossom
Dew
- 3 found in [Dalmasca Estersand / Broken Sands]
- if you sell all of them, return to [Broken Sands] and look for
Valeblossom Dew again
- you need to give her at least one to progress to next step
- after you give her at least one Valeblossom Dew, and assuming Great
Serpentskin is in your inventory, she'll ask if you're willing to part
with it
- decline her request, exit and reenter the village, talk to her again and
then talk with patient behind her house to complete the quest
- so of all the four items, Great Serpentskin is the only one you can keep
until the end of game
- you cannot pick up additional copies of other three items, for example:
you pick up one Semclam Shell in the village and leave the other one,
then you talk to wife - she takes the Semclam Shell from you, requests
Nebralim... you won't be able to collect that Semclam Shell you left,
because it has disappeared (same applies for Nebralim and Valeblossom
Dew)

16. People in [Dalmasca Estersand / Outpost]
- depending on where you are in the story, you can find different people
trekking thru [Outpost] on their way wherever

17. Jaya Stick
- when you get to Jahara, talk to garifs until you get Jaya Stick from
high-chief Zayalu in [Jahara / Lull of the Land]
- take it to W exit and talk to Supinelu, one of the warriors there
- choose first option twice to be allowed to see the elder in (note that by
doing this Jaya Stick is taken from your inventory
- you can't keep Jaya Stick, because for as long as you have it, Supinelu
will keep asking about it, not letting you pass

Onion Bolts
- if you sold Jaya Stick, then you will obtain Killer Bow and Onion Arrows

- they cannot be sold, but you must give away all 10 Dewdrop Pebbles if you
want to complete Cockatrice quest

means)

back in [Giza Plains / Nomad Village]
